More people from Kobanê who were forced by ISIS attacks to take shelter in North Kurdistan are turning back to their hometown which was liberated after 134 days of historic resistance by YPG/YPJ (People's/Women's Defense Units).

Over a thousand Kobanê citizens have crossed into the recently liberated town through Kobanê Serxet (Mürşitpınar) border crossing.

The returning citizens, mainly made up of women and children, were welcomed by their relatives and asayesh (public security) officials.

After having their things controlled by asayesh forces for security, the returning citizens are firstly registered to Mala Gel (People's House) before settling in houses designated by officials as habitable, and in the houses of their relatives or neighbors in 13 neighborhoods in the town centre.

Those wanting to turn back to their villages are also assisted by Mala Gel representatives, enabled to settle in undamaged and habitable houses in liberated villages.

The increasingly ongoing returns to Kobanê are being coordinated by the asayesh units established in villages and neighborhoods in the town centre.
