Violent clashes began in Qandil this morning following an attack of the Iranian army to a point under the control of guerrillas . While clashes continue with repulsed Iranian soldiers, at least five soldiers were killed in Iran, according to the first reports received.
According to information received from PJAK sources, the Iranian army carried out an attack at round 4:00 a.m. on Casus Hill, controlled by guerillas at the boundary line. Iranian soldiers were reportedly repulsed with the resistance of Eastern Kurdistan Forces (HRK) of PJAK.
While PJAK sources report at least five soldiers dead and many injured, the number of casualities is expected to increase as clashes still continue.
Reports also inform about the ongoing intense artillery shootings of the Iranian regime on the villages of Qandil.
Intending to break the guerilla resistance with cross-border operations for 11 days, the Iranian army has suffered heavy losses by being repulsed in each attempt.
Eight members of Revolutionary Guards were killed and six were injured in the clash on Monday evening between HRK guerillas and Iranian revolutionary guards in Berdenaze region.
According to HRK, more than 250 soldiers were killed since the beginning of the operation, including three generals and eight senior commanders. The number of casualities on the guerilla side is reported as eight.
In the meantime, attacks of the Iranian army continue uninterrupted in Qandil, Xinere and Xakurke villages. While according to local sources at least two civilians lost their lives in the artillery shooting of the Iranian army at the night of July 24, the number is reported as three in some other sources.
