Cizre district of Şırnak remains under blockade since yesterday evening when police teams started efforts to fill back the trenches dug by youths aiming to hinder security forces from entering neighborhoods and carrying out detentions as part of the ongoing operations of political genocide.
Facing strong resistance from the youth, many armored vehicles, which had been trying hard to enter the neighborhoods since last night, had to retreat early this morning. During the retreat, police forces opened random fire in the neighborhoods, where their bullets hit many houses and workplaces.
Random fire by police in Cudi neighborhood in the early morning hours left 54 years old Beşir Eğitmiş wounded. It has been reported that Eğitmiş was shot at the point where Hasan Erse had previously been executed on July 29.
Among the eyewitnesses who carried Eğitmiş to a shop as the police were firing gas bombs in the neighborhood, Mehmet Güzel, said that they immediately called an ambulance after they saw the man lying on the ground; however they were told that the ambulance could not arrive at the scene because of security reasons. Güzel said they took the man to hospital by their own means.
Beşir Eğitmiş has been taken under treatment at Cizre Public Hospital, and is reportedly not in a life threatening condition.
