According to a report by Rojnews, ISIS gangs carried out an attack with rockets at around 09:50 this morning in the lower part of Maxmur. A rocket that hit the house of a civilian named Ibrahim Zeelan left three people in the house wounded, including a woman and two girls, one of whom lost her life despite all medical interventions.
PUK representative in Maxmur Reşad Gelalî told Rojnews that the situation has been taken under control in the town.
Third attack in the last 10 days
Following the attacks of ISIS gangs, peshmerga forces and coalition jets carried out bombardments on gang positions around Maxmur.
The gangs, who have launched three attacks on Maxmur over the last 10 days, fired five rockets yesterday upon the town of Maxmur and the refugee camp. One of the rockets reportedly fell near the refugee camp.
ISIS gangs had attacked on Maxmur town and Maxmur refugee camp on August 6, 2014 and taken the settlements under their control for three days, until HPG and YJA STAR guerrillas reached the region and quickly cleansed the region of ISIS gangs.
