A military operation was launched in the Yaylak (Eskar) village and seven hamlets in Amed’s Kulp district, and the villagers in the region can’t be contacted.

Diyarbakır Governorate declared a curfew on Wednesday in the countryside of the city and a military operation was subsequently launched in the Yaylak village and 7 of its hamlets in the Kulp district.

The operation encompasses a wide mountainous area including the Yaylak village and its Şeyhsalih, Nedrexuş, Mezrasor, Simetak, Delêderê, Axcana and Derik hamlets. The area was bombed with mortars.

Fighter jets are also bombing the area where no clashes have been reported. But the soldiers have banned entry to and exit from the Yaylak village and its hamlets, and telephone networks have been down since the morning. Due to the interruption, residents of the area can’t be communicated with.
