The Movement for Democratic Society (Tevgera Civaka Demokratîk‎, TEV-DEM) and Cizîrê Canton administration have held a joint public meeting in Hesekê in order to inform the public about the recent political and military developments in the canton. The meeting attracted high participation of Arab, Assyrian and Syriac people, in addition to the Kurdish population in the city.

The meeting was held by Vice Minister of Public Services of Cizîrê Canton, Newroz Muhammed, and representative of TEV-DEM, İsmail Derik. TEV-DEM representative İsmail Derik stressed in his opening speech that Rojava revolution raised out of a struggle starting from a zero level, but developed on the basis of trust, adding that the 4 years of the revolution confirmed the ideological and philosophical views of the Kurdish Leader Abdullah Öcalan as it was on the basis of his views that a democratic society has been established in Rojava. Derik also told that some opposition groups said to them that they have nothing in hand to fight and that they could not succeed, but -said Derik- the trust and loyalty to the philosophy of leader Apo and the spirit of resistance ensured the success of the Kurdish forces.

Derik further commented on the attitude of the coalition forces saying that the resistance in Kobanê changed the attitudes and brought in the support of the international forces. Concerning the Operation Commander Rubar Qamishlo, Derik said the most important aspect of this operation is that while the Iraqi government has lost control of Ramadi and the Syrian regime the city of Tedmur (Palmira) against the fascist ISIS gangs, the Kurdish forces have liberated Mount Kizwan from the ISIS and continue to advance towards Grê Spî (Tel-Abyad).

Derik lastly commented on the electoral success of the HDP saying that the resistance in Kobanê had a deep impact in North Kurdistan and the elections were held in the atmosphere of a high spirit raised by the resistance in Kobanê.

Cizîrê Canton Public Services vice Minister Newroz Muhammed stated in her speech that the military gains on the ground have been successfully turned into political gains, stressing that they additionally carry out successful diplomatic relations. Muhammed emphasised that today no international meeting on Syria is being held without the participation of the Kurdish forces and added that the international community is well aware that any problem in Syria cannot be solved without the Kurdish forces.
