The People’s Defence Forces (HPG) Press Office has issued a written statement saying that the activity of the Turkish army is increasing towards the Medya Defence Zones.

HPG said the Turkish air force carried out flights over Medya Defence Zones at the Kandil border line on 18 April starting at 23:00 and added that the aerial activities of the Turkish air force had increased over the region.

HPG reported that the Turkish army carried out reconnaissance flights over the Martyr Rahime area at the Avasin border on 18 April at 04:00-19:00; over the Merge area in the same region at 09:00-10:00 and over the Zap region and the border area on 19 April at 01:00-11:00.

HPG also reported that the Turkish army launched bombardment with heavy weaponry from Maymun Hill in Martyr Kendal area at the border of the Heftanin area of the Medya Defence Zones on 18 April between 14:00-15:30.

HPG finally reported that the Turkish army has carried out operations and set ambushes around Gundike Mele Hill in Şırnak since 17 April.
