Many politicians taken into custody in Amed

Turkish police have taken many Kurdish politicians into custody during house raids in Amed today.

Turkish police conducted raids on several houses and detained many Kurdish politicians in Amed this morning.

The politicians detained include Free Women's Movement (TJA) activists Sara Aktaş, Ayşe Gökkan, Zeynep Altinkaynak, Nalan Gözeni, Şahcan Tunel, Sibel İldan and Hatice Uçar, Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) member Abdurrahim Dağ, Democratic Societies Congress (DTK) member Ercan Aslan, Devran Ak, Democratic Region's Party (DBP) member Salih Keleş and former mayor of Bağlar, Yüksel Baran.

The Kurdish politicians have been taken to the police department in Amed, but no official reason has been given yet for their detainment.
