Many people taken into custody in Urfa, Mardin and Dersim

Many people were detained in new police operations carried out by Turkish state forces. In Mardin and Dersim.

New police political operations were carried out in many cities on Thursday morning. Many people, including Peace Mothers and members of the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), were detained in house raids. DEM Party Youth Assembly member Mehmet Aslan and DEM Party PM member İzzet Karadağ were detained in Urfa (Riha). The reasons for the detention could not be learned.

Mardin

Many houses were raided in Nusaybin (Nisêbîn) and Kızıltepe (Qoser) in the province of Mardin (Mêrdîn). Many people, including 72-year-old Peace Mother Perihan Altuğ, were taken into custody during the raids. In Savur (Stewrê), DEM Party executive Mübarek Güneş was also taken into custody.

Dersim

Besime Gök, Leyla Arslan, Naci Genç, Yusuf Ölmez, Naci Yalmaç, Dozvan Başak and Mithat Konak were taken into custody in the house raids carried out in Dersim. It was learned that Sevim Sağlam and her son Özer Laçin were detained and taken to the Provincial Police Department.
