Turkish army while increasing the military operation in Kurdistan has declared some regions in Siirt, Hakkari and Sirnak as ‘Military Security Zones’.

According to the website of the Turkish General Staff Küpeli Mountain, Cudi Mountain, Yazlýca Mountain, Mehmet Yusuf ve Meydan Mountains, Çaðlayan-Pirinçeken and Balkaya Mountains have been declared as temporary security zones for the period of 16 July and 16 September 2010.

During this period the said areas will be closed to any civilian entrance including journalists.
