Kurdish national clothing faces ban in Rojhilat

As Newroz approaches, the Iranian regime is increasing its pressure on Kurds, trying to prevent the sale of Kurdish national clothes.

With the approach of Newroz, the market for Kurdish national clothing has started to become more active. However, at the same time, the Iranian regime has intensified its pressure on Kurds.

According to a report by Kurdistan Media, which operates in Rojhilatê Kurdistan, Iranian intelligence has recently escalated its crackdown on Kurds.

It has been reported that intelligence forces have been threatening tailors who sew Kurdish national clothing, stating that the production of these garments, especially traditional earth-toned outfits, is prohibited.

In addition, intelligence forces have demanded that tailors hand over their record books containing customer information.

Last week, Behroz Ferheng, a tailor registered in Bokan, was arrested by Iranian intelligence forces at his shop and sent to Urmia Prison.

This year, the designated color for Newroz celebrations in Rojhilatê Kurdistan is earth tone. In response, Iranian forces are attempting to ban all Kurdish national clothing, particularly brown-colored outfits.
