A group of Kurdish artists from Europe has visited the Peshmerga Ministry of KRG to condemn the Turkish army’s invasion attacks and to avoid a possible conflict between Kurdish forces.

The delegation consisting of Şivan Perwer, Diyar Dersim, Firmêsk Hafiz, Hesen Şerif and Beser Şahin paid a visit to the Peshmerga Ministry in Hewler, South Kurdistan.

The delegation and Peshmerga Minister Şoreş Ismail held a meeting closed to the press.

“We, as Kurdish artists, came to South Kurdistan and conveyed our demands to the Peshmerga Ministry. The Ministry welcomed us warmly and we were pleased,” Şivan Perwer said in a statement after the meeting.

“The enemies of the Kurdish people want a Kurdish civil war. South Kurdistan is a great achievement for the Kurdish people. We must cherish it. As artists, we are ready to do anything for peace,” he added.

Answering journalists’ questions, Diyar Dersim said, “We conveyed the demands of the artists to the Peshmerga Ministry. We do not want any kind of conflict between the peshmerga and the guerrilla. Just as peshmerga and guerrillas fought against the enemy in Kirkuk and Kobane, we want the same spirit to emerge again. Do not let the mothers of Kurdistan shed tears for the martyrs of a civil war once again."

“The Peshmerga Ministry said that they do not want a civil war. Because war only serves the invading Turkish state,” he noted.

Diyar Dersim added that they would visit other institutions and issue a press release on Thursday.
