KDP further escalates tensions

KDP escalates the tension by deploying its forces to the Ranya Rewandûz countryside.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), which sent its military forces to the Garê region a few days ago, took a step that further escalates the tension. The KDP aims to encircle the guerrilla areas by sending its armed forces to rural Ranya.

Rojnews reports that the KDP is trying to establish a military base by deploying its armed forces to a region between Ranya and Rewandûz.

Armed forces affiliated with the KDP started to build a military base on Simorê and Tusreke hills facing east of Rewanduz.

The areas in question are the Sêwek plateau, Zîn, Bêreş and Karoxê known as guerrilla areas. The KDP aims to encircle the guerrilla areas.

In the meantime, on October 30-31, the KDP sent its own forces called Zêrvanî and "Roj" to Xelan, close to the areas of Bexme, Henare and Elî Begê Valley.

The KDP is reported to be preparing to deploy a larger force in the Korek and Gors mountains.

The KDP sent an armed force yesterday to the village of Gerewan in the same region. With this step, KDP is also trying to cross the borders agreed between the KDP and PUK (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan) and establish a base in the region that is included in the PUK borders.
