KCK calls the Kurdish people to action against Turkish attacks

“In the face of these attacks, the Kurdish people and their allies should rise up at once in all four parts of Kurdistan and abroad and protest the Turkish state that carried out these attacks, until all the world protests and punishes the Turkish state.”

Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) Executive Council Co-presidency issued a written statement on the Turkish state’s attacks on Shengal and Rojava.

The written statement issued by the KCK Executive Council Co-presidency said the following on the Turkish state’s attacks on Rojava and Shengal: “Dozens of Turkish state’s fighter jets attacked the Êzidî homeland Shengal, the Democratic Northern Syria Federation and the people of Rojava Kurdistan who staged the most deepseated democratic revolution in Syria and the Middle East on April 24, the anniversary of the Armenian and Chaldean-Assyrian genocide. We salute with respect and gratitude all the fighters and civilians who were martyred in these attacks. We offer our condolences to their families, the people of Kurdistan and all of humanity.”

THE TURKISH STATE IS THE ENEMY OF THE FREE KURD

The statement pointed out the Turkish state’s animosity against Kurds and continued: “The Turkish state employs genocidal policies against Kurds and all different identities, therefore they are an enemy to the reality of the free Kurd and the zones of freedom and democracy that will void these policies and will resist them. As the Kurds are liberated in Northern Syria and Shengal, the genocidal policies of the Turkish state receive heavier blows. That is why they are attacking these areas where the free and democratic life blossoms.

THE ATTACK IS AGAINST THE FREE AND DEMOCRATIC LIFE

The Turkish state has been against the Rojava Revolution since the beginning. The Rojava Revolution has dealt a blow to the genocidal policies imposed upon the Kurds in all parts, and has been a great step in the democratization of Syria and the Middle East. The Turkish state is afraid of the democratization in Syria so they want to smother the Rojava Revolution. First they made the gangs, the inhuman enemies of democracy and freedom, attack the Rojava Revolution and when that failed, the Turkish state got directly involved. They invaded Jarablus and al-Bab to smother the Rojava Revolution and to disband the Democratic Northern Syrian Federation. When these invasions also failed to provide results, they directly attacked the Rojava Revolution and the Democratic Northern Syrian Federation. The attacks around Derik and Qamishlo were made against the Kurdish people, the Arabs and Syriacs and the free and democratic life of all peoples.

The attack on Shengal and the Democratic Northern Syrian Federation isn’t just an attack on Kurds and the peoples who live there, it is also an attack on all humanity. The Kurdish youth fought in Kobanê, Girê Spî (Tal Abyad), Shaddadi and Manbij not only for themselves but for all of humanity. As they fought for all humanity, all humanity supported the fighters resisting against the inhuman gangs in Kobanê with the November 1 World Kobanê Day. If the enemies of humanity ISIS were defeated in Kobanê and Northern Syria, if ISIS has been weakened today, it was the thousands of sacrificing young Kurds made that happen. The Turkish state is now attacking the Democratic Syrian Forces and the peoples of Democratic Northern Syria who waged a war to rid humanity of gangs like ISIS and who fought to democratize Syria and the Middle East. With these attacks, Turkey has targeted all of humanity in the person of the forces fighting for freedom and democracy in the Middle East. Today, all of humanity support the Rojava Revolution and the Democratic Northern Syrian Federation. With these attacks, the Turkish state is also challenging humanity who embrace the democratic development in Northern Syria. They are saying they will attack every power that stands against their genocidal policies. All their recent bullying of Europe and several countries have been made concrete in the aerial attacks they carried out in Shengal, Derîk and Qamishlo today. Unless these attacks are stopped, the Turkish state will increase their attacks on not only the Kurds and the peoples of the Middle East but on all who support the values of democracy and freedom.

With these attacks, the Turkish state aims to fulfill their goals of preventing the Raqqa operation and easing the pressure on ISIS that they have been voicing for a long time. It is not a coincidence that this attack came after the Turkish Defense Minister said they will prevent the SDF’s Raqqa operation. The Turkish state’s whole goal is to prevent an ISIS defeat and Raqqa and Northern Syria being controlled by democratic socialist forces based on local democracy. The Turkish state wants to hand Raqqa to forces that are inhuman enemies of democracy, a different version of ISIS. With this they aim to prevent democratization that will threaten the fascist regime in Turkey.

ATTACKS SHOULD BE PROTESTED EVERYWHERE

KCK underlined that in the face of these attacks, the Kurdish people and their allies should rise up at once in all four parts of Kurdistan and abroad and protest the Turkish state that carried out these attacks, until all the world protests and punishes the Turkish state.

The statement continued; “The people of Bakur, Bashur, Rojhilat and Rojava should see that these attacks target all the Kurds, and engage in uninterrupted action against attacks of the genocidal Turkish state. Actions in Bashur Kurdistan and Northern Syria should be turned into a struggle to repel and expel the occupant forces of the Turkish state.

As the Turkish state targets all the Middle Eastern peoples and humanity with these attacks, peoples of the Middle East and all humanity should stand up against these attacks, manifest their stand and enhance their struggle against the Turkish state that is an enemy of freedom and democracy for not only Kurdistan and the Middle East but all humanity as well.

Considering the fact that this is an attack against humanity, all international organisations including the United Nations should act, take a stand and make necessary decisions against this attack of the Turkish state."
