Speaking to ANF about recent developments in the Turkish state's fight against the Kurdish movement, Kurdish Communities Union (KCK) Executive Council president Murat Karayýlan called on the U.S. to give up supporting the Turkish state’s war against the Kurdish people.
Reacting against the statements of U.S. Secretary of the State Hillary Clinton who during her recent visit to Turkey said that “PKK continues its terror activities that have killed tens of thousands of people”, Karayýlan said that “It is the Kurdish people who are subjected to the terror and pressure of Turkish police and state. Why doesn’t Mrs. Clinton see the Roboski massacre or the fact that 17.528 Kurdish people were victims of unidentified murders and at least 30.000 Kurds were killed in the process since the fight against PKK started?
Karayýlan underlined that the independent movement of the Kurdish people demand peace, freedom and a democratic solution to the Kurdish problem in the face of the state terror which -he added- has made the Kurdish people protect and defend themselves against it.
We want the U.S. and colonialism not to take part in the bloodshed in Kurdistan, said Karayýlan and criticized Clinton for declaring the Kurdish movement and its military power a terror organization, regardless of the fact that the movement fights for the fair rights and demands of Kurds.
KCK Executive Council President Karayýlan noted that the Turkish state intends to destroy the movement of Kurds through the support and intelligence provided by the U.S.
Karayýlan ended calling on the U.S. to give an end to the policy of destruction and to respect the principled policy of Kurds.
