PKK Executive Committee Member Murat Karayılan stated that the killing of civilians, particularly mothers, upset them deeply. Karayılan offered condolences to the people of Kobanê and said that their martyrs would be avenged and ISIS gangs would pay for their massacre.

Karayılan praised Rıfat Horoz (Karker Kobanê) for his solidarity with Kurdish people’s struggle and described him as the symbol of laborer, internationalist and democrat Turkish people. Karayılan said that Horoz was also a symbol of peoples’ sisterhood and followed the path of Kemal Pir and Haki Karer who had strengthened bonds of solidarity among Turkish and Kurdish peoples. Karayılan offered condolences to Horoz’s friends and family.

Karayılan noted that a 5 meters long ditch surrounded Kobanê city center and access into the city was only possible through 3 bridges. Karayılan said that Kobanê administration and defense forces would investigate the issue and prevent further infiltration attempts.
