ISIS cell dismantled and two terrorists captured in Shaddadi

The SDF reiterates its commitment to continue the joint security operations against ISIS remnants in the region.

On August 23, the Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) Military Operations Teams TOL conducted a joint security operation with the support and participation of International Coalition forces in the town of Safian, Shaddadi district, southeastern Hesekê. The operation targeted an ISIS terrorist cell responsible for several terrorist acts in the region.

“At approximately 3:00 a.m., the joint forces raided where the terrorist cell was hiding and successfully captured two ISIS operatives, Issa Mohamed Has’has aka Abu Hamza, and Abdullah Mohamed Has’has aka Abu Omar,” said the SDF Media Center in a statement about the operation.

During the operation, SDF fighters seized 2 AK-47 rifles, 11 AK-47 magazines, 2 pistols, 4 pistol magazines, 1 Mauser rifle, military daggers and 4 combat knives.
