In a continuation of the recent crackdown on Kurdish civilians and activists in Mahabad, West Azerbaijan Province, the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has arrested seven people without warrants in recent days, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) reported.
According to information received by KHRN, on 14 December, IRGC agents raided the homes of Siamand Seyyed-Ahmadi, Zanyar Seyyed-Ahmadi, Aram Mabzouleh, and Yousef Ghal in the village of Beyram in Mahabad.
Siamand Seyyed-Ahmadi was released a few hours later.
The following day, 15 December, IRGC agents carried out further raids in Mahabad, targeting the homes of Ghader Kharamanfar, Kamal Masoudi and Jalal Sadafi.
During these operations, agents searched the homes, confiscated personal belongings and arrested the three individuals.
According to sources, all the detainees have been transferred to the IRGC Intelligence detention centre in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan Province.
