The Press Center of the Northern and Eastern Syria Internal Security Forces said in a statement that they carried out a comprehensive security operation in the neighborhoods of Raqqa Canton on 4 December, and that as a result of the operation, 40 gangs were captured and many weapons and ammunition were seized.
The statement added that the captured cells belonged to ISIS gangs and to “Jaish Wetani” gangs affiliated with the Turkish state.
According to the statement, the weapons and electronic items seized from the gangs were as follows:
3 Kalashnikov weapons
90 Kalashnikov bullets
3 Kalashnikov magazines
3 9 mm pistols
25 mobile phones
Laptop and tablet
The statement called on citizens to report suspicious movements and people directly to security points or by phone.
This security initiative is one of the largest operations carried out in the region in recent times.
