The People's Defense Center (HSM) Headquarters Command released a statement congratulating the guerrilla commanders and fighters who carried out a revolutionary operation against Turkish forces in the Zap region of the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) on 20 February.

The HSM statement on Wednesday includes the following:

“Dear Comrades!

We greet you, dear comrades, who participated in the Revolutionary Operation in the Kurojaro Resistance Area in eastern Zap with Apoist sacrificial spirit and high courage, with the most sincere revolutionary feelings.

On February 20, you carried out a revolutionary operation within the framework of legitimate defense against the invaders in the Kurojaro Resistance Area in eastern Zap in response to the continuous attacks by the Turkish army from the air and land. In the Kurojaro Revolutionary Operation, the invaders were targeted in a coordinated manner from three sides, skillfully using infiltration tactics, and the enemy remained completely unaware until the guerrillas entered their positions and fired the first shot.

During this revolutionary operation, which was marked by great sacrifice and high revolutionary will despite the very harsh winter conditions, the invaders were hit effectively and quickly in a lightning-like way. The fact that the target was completely overthrown and conquered within 20 minutes, the enemy suffered heavy losses, the guerrillas suffered no casualties, many weapons and military equipment were seized from the enemy, and the tents and positions were set on fire and burned down proves it to be a successful action.

We congratulate all the commanders and fighters who carried out this revolutionary operation with high military performance and revolutionary will, and worked hard at every stage.

The documents you confiscated from the occupiers during the revolutionary operation have once again revealed the truth of the war in the mountains of Kurdistan. It has been proven that the Ministry of National Defense of the Turkish Republic, which is insisting on war and producing all kinds of lies to hide its results from the peoples of Turkey, and is trying to deceive the public opinion, is clearly lying. It has not even properly announced the defeat of its soldiers whose weapons, military equipment and identity papers were seized. The truth of the war will be seen by everyone when the images of your performance in the revolutionary operation and the weapons, materials and documents you seized from the enemy are published.
