HPG: Turkish army shelled Martyr Gafur area with phosphorus bombs

While Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles conducted reconnaissance flights over Gare, Metina areas and Zap region of Medya Defence Zones, Turkish troops shelled Martyr Gafur area with phosphorus bombs.

People’s Defense Forces (HPG) Press Office has reported in a written statement that attacks of the Turkish military against guerrilla areas continue. While Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles conducted reconnaissance flights over Gare, Metina areas and Zap region of Medya Defence Zones, Turkish troops shelled Martyr Gafur area with phosphorus bombs.

HPG first reported the bombardments launched with tanks, mortars and howitzers from the military posts at the border of Medya Defense Zones. HPG provided the following details;

- Troops at Bezelê military post at Avashin border shelled Hill Sor between 16.00 - 23.00 on October 8.

- Troops at Grana military post shelled Govendê area between 21.30 - 22.00 on October 8.

- Troops at Oremar military post shelled martyr Gafur area with phosphorus bombs between 10.00 - 11.00 on October 8.

- Troops at Eriş military post at Zap border shelled surrounding areas between 09.30 - 10.30 on October 8

- Troops at Bilican military post shelled Garêya Piçuk area between 13.00 - 13.30 on October 8

HPG listed the following reconnaissance flights by Turkish aircraft over the following guerrilla areas;

-Garê area between 17.00 - 18.00 and 19.30 - 21.00 on October 8,

-Metina area between 03.30 - 12.00 on October 8

-Zap region between 23:00 on October 8 and 01:00 on October 9.

HPG lastly reported that Turkish war planes carried out flights over Metina area at between 01.00 – 01.30 on October 9.
