The Press Office of People's Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement providing information regarding the airstrikes carried out by Turkish warplanes in PKK-held Medya Defense Zones yesterday evening.
HPG reported that Turkish warplanes bombarded the Cigerxwin hill sides, Bokriskan, Zergelê, Duava villages and Karox area at between 18.00 – 21.00 January 6 evening.
HPG said Turkish jets also shelled the surroundings of the Zap River in Zap region of Medya Defense Zones at between 19.00-19.30 on January 4.
The statement pointed out that the bombardments of Turkish aircraft damaged rural areas and the orchards near these villages.
HPG denied the Turkish media reports that several PKK targets were destroyed by airstrikes, saying these are fabricated reports not reflecting the truth.
