HPG reports ongoing resistance against Turkish invasion of guerrilla areas

Three more members of the occupation forces were killed as the guerrilla resistance against Turkish invasion in guerrilla areas continues unabated.

Resistance continues unabated to the Turkish invasion of the guerrilla-held Medya Defence Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq). According to the statement released by the Press Office of the People's Defence Forces (HPG) on Tuesday, three soldiers of the Turkish army were killed and seven enemy positions were hit by targeted fire during actions by the HPG and YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops) guerrillas.

Zap region

On 29 August, guerrillas struck the occupation forces in Kokerê Resistance Area with heavy weapons and one soldier was killed.

On 31 August, guerrillas targeted the heavy construction equipment with which the Turkish army continued its efforts to demolish the tunnel facilities of the guerrillas in Sida Resistance Area, and the demolition activity was interrupted.

HPG and YJA Star guerrillas struck the Turkish troops nine times on 30 and 31 August.

Seven positions of the occupation forces were hit and severely damaged as a result of strikes by heavy and semi-automatic weapons, including by snipers, which also left two soldiers dead and one other wounded.

On the other hand, the Turkish army carried out artillery attacks on the regions of Zap and Şehîd Delîl in western Zap.
