While the occupying Turkish army’s attacks against the guerrilla areas continue uninterruptedly, guerrilla forces intervene within the framework of legitimate defense against the occupation attacks.
Turkey is continuing its attacks against the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) unabated despite the ceasefire announced by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). The region has been bombed hundreds of times by the Turkish air force and artillery in the past two days, the Press Center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) announced in a statement on Saturday.
According to the HPG statement, details of the latest attacks and interventions by the guerrilla forces are as follows:
Attacks by fighter jets:
On March 13 and 14, Turkish fighter jets carried out six strikes in Medya Defense Zones, targeting the areas of Berê Zînê, Lolan, Kendekola, Goşînê in Xakurkê region, the area of Yekmalê in Garê region, the Bêşîlî area in Metîna region.
Heavy weaponry, artillery and howitzer attacks:
On March 13 and 14, Turkish troops carried out a total of 377 attacks with heavy weaponry, artillery and howitzers. The attacks targeted the areas of Kendekola, Berê Zînê, Şehîd Şerîf, Lolan in Xakurkê region 37 times; the areas of Girê Reşîd, Kanî Sarkê, Zêvkê, Girê Zengil, Zêvkê in Garê region 44 times; the areas of Şêlazê, Serê Metîna, Bêşîlî in Metîna region 130 times, and the areas of Girê Amediyê, Girê Bahar Resistance Areas in Şehîd Delîl Western Zap region 166 times.
Interventions by our forces against the attacks:
On March 13, the sensor camera used by the invaders for surveillance purposes in the Girê Amediyê Resistance Area in Şehîd Delîl Western Zap region was hit and destroyed.
On March 14, guerrillas responded to the invaders who continuously bombarded their positions with heavy weapons and artillery in the Girê Amediyê Resistance Area in Şehîd Delîl Western Zap region. A tent belonging to the occupiers was hit by a kamikaze drone.
On March 14, YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops) guerrillas intervened with medium automatic weapons against the invaders who continuously bombarded the guerrilla positions with heavy weapons and artillery in the Girê Bahar Resistance Area in the Şehîd Delîl Western Zap region.
