HPG reports continued actions against the Turkish army

Guerrillas hit Turkish military units in Hakkari and Sirnak provinces.

People’s Defense Forces Press Office (HPG-BIM) released a statement reporting continued actions against the occupant Turkish army in Kurdistan.

The statement by HPG-BIM reads as follows;

“Within the scope of the Martyr Pîroz and Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign, on July 29, at 15.00, our guerrilla forces carried out an action targeting enemy soldiers positioned on the Şikerê Sipi hill outpost in Hakkari's Şemzînan (Şemdinli) district.

The number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be clarified in the action where enemy positions on the hill were struck effectively.

Within the scope of the Martyr Delal Amed and Besta Martyrs Revolutionary Campaign, our guerrilla forces carried out an action against Gundikê Melê battalion in Sirnak on July 28, at 17.50. The number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be clarified in the action where enemy positions at the battalion were put under intense fire. Following the action, at 21.00 hours, the occupying Turkish army launched an operation in the area with the support of unmanned aerial vehicles. The invading army bombed the area with warplanes, howitzers, and mortars in the operation. The operation is still ongoing.

On 29 July, at 29.00, the warplanes of the invading Turkish army bombed Golka hill in the Medya Defence Zones and Martyr Rüstem area and Cehennem hill in the Zap region. On the same day, at 14.00, the enemy outposts on the border of Hakkari’s Çukurca district bombed Martyr Rüstem and Small Cilo areas with howitzers and mortars. After the bombardment, a fire broke out in the wooded area.”
