HPG reports 64 airstrikes by the Turkish army in guerrilla areas within one week

According to the HPG, guerrilla areas in South Kurdistan have been bombed 64 times by Turkish fighter jets within a week. The Turkish army also used combat helicopters and unconventional explosives.

The Press Centre of the People's Defence Forces (HPG) released a statement providing information on last week's war in the guerrilla-held Medya Defence Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

Details of the latest actions by the guerrillas and attacks by the Turkish army in MEdya Defence Zones are as follows:

Şehîd Delîl Western Zap region;

From 09:50 to 10:45 on 19 March, the invaders in the Girê Amediyê Resistance Area were effectively hit by the guerrillas with heavy weapons.

Xakurkê region;

On 19 March at 17:20, the invaders in Girê Şehîd Kamuran were hit by the YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops) guerrillas with heavy weapons.

Attacks carried out by the occupying Turkish army with banned explosives;

On 19 March, the guerrillas’ battle position in Girê Amediyê Resistance Area of Şehîd Delîl Western Zap region was bombed 4 times with banned explosives.

Attacks carried out by the occupying Turkish army;

Between 16-23 March, the Turkish army carried out 64 airstrikes in the guerrilla areas. These included 10 strikes on the areas of Dêreşê, Deşta Kafya, Zengil, Bîrê, Gûzê, Şiyê, Çemrobotkî in Garê region; 20 strikes on the areas of Girê Cûdî, Girê FM, Girê Bahar, Girê Amediyê Resistance Area in Şehîd Delîl Western Zap region; 5 strikes on the Şehîd Îbrahîm Resistance Area in Zap region; 15 strikes on the areas of Serê Metîna, Şêlazê, Bêşîlî, Bazê in Metîna region; 8 strikes on the areas of Kolît, Lolan, Sinînê, Şehîd Şerîf in Xakurkê region; 6 strikes on the areas of Kortek, Silê, Bêpala in Qandil.

On 14 and 17 March, attack helicopters bombed the areas of Çarçel, Şêlazê, Yekmalê in Metîna region and the Lolan area in Xakurkê region.
