Guerrilla commander Ronahî Tendurek and guerrillas Pervîn, Derya, Dîlan, Rewşen and Destan fell as martyrs in a Turkish attack on the South Kurdish region of Xakurke in January 2018. The press center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) said in a statement that Ronahî Tendurek was a member of the area command in Xakurke and fought in the Kurdish freedom movement for 26 years. The HPG paid tribute to commander Ronahî Tendurek who was as an exemplary commander of the associations of free women (YJA Star) and Pervîn, Derya, Dîlan, Rewşen and Destan as exemplary Kurdish women who rejected life in the patriarchal system and freed themselves from it.
