Mizgîn Ronahî

Mizgîn Ronahî was born in Îsxan near Makû in Eastern Kurdistan (Rojhilat) and grew up in a patriotic family. She lived with the language, culture and ethical values of her people. As a young Kurd, she became aware of the social contradictions and questioned the classic role that was granted to her as a woman. Her homeland, Kurdistan, was a colony divided into four states. She got to know the Kurdish liberation movement and joined the guerrillas in 2006. She completed her basic training in the Qandil Mountains. She quickly developed into a competent guerrilla fighter and became part of the special unit Hêzên Taybet.

She later received special military training and in 2010 went to the Zagros Mountains, where she fought for five years in different areas and with great courage.

In 2015 she was injured in combat in Gever. As soon as she recovered, she set out for North Kurdistan as commander of the YJA Star, arriving in Botan in 2016. There she took command of mobile women's guerrilla units. In Besta she took an active part in various actions, she planned various successful acts of sabotage and carried them out herself. In the spectacular guerrilla action on 16 August 2017 in Deriyê Beroj in Besta, she commanded one of the attacking flanks.

After four years of successful practice in Botan, Mizgîn went to the Medya Defense Areas and completed advanced training at a military academy in 2020. After that, she took over the command of the Zap region and showed great commitment, especially at the Kuro Jahro. The strategically important mountain was one of the first targets of the Turkish occupying forces in April 2022 and Mizgîn Ronahî and her fighters inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy. Mizgîn defended the Kuro Jahro with great courage for days.

Rumet Amed

Rûmet Amed came from Kobanê and grew up in the Rojava revolution. In this atmosphere of hope and victory he got to know the Kurdish liberation movement. The fighters who came from all parts of Kurdistan to defend Kobanê against ISIS in 2014 left a great impression on him.

When he was old enough, he joined the revolutionary struggle himself and was active in various fields in Rojava. At the same time, he got acquainted with the philosophy of Abdullah Öcalan and became a courageous militant who focused on military training. In 2020 he went to the Zap region as a guerrilla fighter and took part in numerous actions against the Turkish army. When the Turkish ground operation began on 17 April, he was part of the first guerrilla groups to confront the enemy. He managed to prevent the landing of Turkish troops on the Kuro Jahro. After days of resistance, he fell a martyr.

The HPG express their condolences to the relatives and the Kurdish people and state that Mizgîn and Rûmet are proof that free Kurds never bow to colonialism.
