Ibrahim Mêrdîn

Ibrahim Mêrdîn was born in Midyat (Midyad). He grew up aware of his identity and the oppression of the Kurdish people by the Turkish state, which is why many of his relatives joined the guerrillas.

He left school early and went to work to help his family. During this time, he became active in the Kurdish youth movement. He felt responsible for resisting the oppression going on in Kurdistan.

When the Islamic State invaded Rojava with backing from Ankara, he joined the guerrillas. He received his basic training in the Zap region, where he was involved in various areas of combat until he fell as a martyr.

Reşîd Farqîn

Reşîd Farqîn came from the resistance stronghold of Amed (Diyarbakır). He grew up in a politicized environment and developed an awareness of the socio-political situation in Kurdistan at an early age. However, he spent part of his childhood and youth in Istanbul. There he was suddenly no longer allowed to speak Kurdish. He then left school, which he saw as a "hotbed of assimilation". Instead, he took on various jobs. He met people with whom he shared the same fate and became active within the Kurdish youth movement.

In 2014, he was injured during a protest. This experience deepened his anger against the system. During the resistance against ISIS in Kobanê, Reşîd Farqîn joined the guerrillas. In 2015, he was deployed in the Cîlo Mountains, where he also received his basic training. The following year, he switched to the academic-military sector. Since 2017, he has been deployed in the Zap, where he passed on his skills and knowledge to other guerrillas.
