HPG: At least 14 soldiers and 2 police officers killed

HPG stated that guerillas responded to Turkish state attacks and killed at least 14 soldiers and 2 police officers.

HPG Media Center stated that its forces carried out effective attacks in response to Turkish state massacres. HPG reported that its guerillas sabotaged a Kirpi armored vehicle of the Turkish army on the road between Amed’s Lice and Hani districts, and injured 16 soldiers at 07:30 on July 31. HPG guerillas also sabotaged an Akrep armored vehicle of the Turkish police and heavily injured 2 special operations officers in the Fiskaya district of Amed on July 28.

HPG said that its guerillas attacked a Turkish army barracks with heavy weaponry and killed two police officers in the Ahlat district of Bitlis at 23:00 on July 30. HPG guerillas also carried out simultaneous attacks on the Police Headquarters, and TEDAŞ and State Hydraulic Works (SHW) buildings in the Norşin district of Bitlis at 23:00 on July 30. Guerillas hit the Police Headquarters with B7 guns, and destroyed 3 TEDAŞ vehicles, 2 SHW containers, 2 cranes, and several technical equipments.

HPG announced that its guerillas attacked the Seventh Corp Command in Amed city center at 01:00 on August 1, and the Turkish army took the nearby Hevsel gardens under siege with helicopters and soldiers after the HPG attack.

HPG stated that guerillas checked ID cards during a road blockade near the village of Kozmerik located between Dersim and Erzincan, and informed the people passing by about the political process. Turkish drones carried out reconnaissance flights over Kozmerik village after the HPG road blockade at 17:00, and Kobra helicopters bombed Kozmerik and Gürmelik slopes at 19:00. Turkish army bombed Kozmerik slope also with mortars from the nearby Kutudere guard post.

HPG also reported that guerillas checked ID cards during a road blockade between Erzurum and Kars’ Kağızman district, and informed the people passing by about the political process. Turkish drones carried out reconnaissance flights over the road after the HPG road blockade at 21:00, and Kobra helicopters shot random fires around 23:00 and caused a fire in the region. HPG guerillas destroyed 4 vehicles and 1 bridge close to Erzurum during this attack.

13 SOLDIERS KILLED IN GABAR, LARGE AMOUNTS OF MILITARY EQUIPMENTS SEIZED

HPG declared that its guerrillas carried out effective attacks in response to the Turkish army’s increasing aggression, and killed 13 soldiers in the Gabar region of Botan.

HPG guerillas infiltrated Turkish army lines from 2 directions and killed 9 soldiers in the Cotyar and Önce Vatan hills in Botan’s Gabar region at 09:00 on July 30. Guerillas seized 1 BKC gun, 100 BKC bullets, 1 G3 gun, 4 pistols, 1 night binoculars, 1 day binocular, 1 Sniper binocular, 1 small device and 2 hard disks while destroying another BKC gun.

Commander of one of the 2 groups that carried out the attack in Gabar, Harun Çekdar, committed self-sacrifice as he detonated the bombs wrapped around him after infiltrating enemy lines. 4 soldiers died during this attack and Turkish Kobra helicopters, warplanes, and soldiers bombarded the area with mortars afterwards.

HPG stated that guerillas carried out a suicide mission towards the Halısa guard post located in Dersim’s Ovacık district at 00:30 on August 1, and killed 1 soldier here.

HPG reported that guerillas attacked Şaxe Police Headquarters in the Çatak district of Van at 20:30 on July 31. The number of Turkish army casualties has not yet been determined, and 1 guerilla died bravely during the attack in Van.
