HPG actions against occupying Turkish forces

New actions by the Kurdish guerrillas in North Kurdistan

Within the scope of the Martyr Piroz and Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign, Kurdish  guerrilla forces carried out a series of actions against the Turkish occupying forces. 

The HPG Press Centre released the following statement: 

"Within the scope of the Martyr Piroz and Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign, our  guerrillas carried out an action targeting an Amarok-type military car which was heading towards a hill near Çoyê outpost in Esendere area of Hakkari's Gever (Yüksekova) district on July 19, at 07.20. The number of dead and wounded soldiers in the vehicle, which was struck effectively, could not be determined.

On July 19, at 19.00, within the scope of the campaign, our forces carried out an assassination action targeting enemy soldiers positioned on Kelebek hill in Hakkari's Şemzînan (Şemdinli) district. In the action, one enemy soldier was killed.

On July 19, at 04.00, our guerrilla forces encountered with a unit of the occupying Turkish army and entered in the conflict near Herki village of Hakkari’s Şemzînan district. During the short-term conflict, our forces had not have any casualties and the number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined. Our guerilla unit has reached its base safely.

On July 19, at 04.00, our guerrilla forces encountered with a unit of the occupying Turkish army and entered into conflict near Herki village of Hakkari’s Şemzînan district. During the short-term conflict, our forces have not had any casualties and the number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined. Our guerilla unit has reached its base safely.

On July 18, at 16.00, our forces carried out an action against a unit of the invading Turkish army which was put under surveillance in the countryside of Hizan district of Bitlis. The number of dead and wounded soldiers in this action where the enemy unit was effectively hit could not be determined.

Following the action, the invading forces carried away dead and wounded soldiers from the area with the support of unmanned aerial vehicles.

The contra named Ismail Hakkıcan, who has been working with the enemy for around 30 years, was targeted by our forces as he left the Fem outpost in the Yedisu district of Bingöl at 12.30 hours on July 18. This individual has been injured in the action. Following this, the invading forces opened indiscriminate fire at the surroundings of Fem outpost with heavy weapons.

The warplanes of the invading Turkish army carried out bombardment against the Medya Defense Zones on July 19 and 20. Within this scope;

On July 19, between 16.00-18.00, warplanes bombed the Karox, Tepê Savaş and Martyr Ayhan valley in the Qandil region, the Sheikh Zadê area in the Xakurkê region, and the Şıkefta Birindara area in the Zap region.

A fire has broken out in the wooded area as a result of the bombardment against the Zap region, and this fire continues.

On July 20, at 01.00, warplanes bombed the Arıs Farıs village in the Avasin region".
