HPG: 33 Turkish soldiers killed in Hakkari

Guerrilla forces of the HPG and YJA-Star continue their actions against the occupant Turkish army.

HPG Press Office announced that at least 33 soldiers of the Turkish army were killed as guerrillas hit a military convoy in Hakkari. 3 other soldiers were killed in Güçlükonak and 1 other in Şırnak.

People’s Defense Forces Press Office (HPG-BIM) gave the following information about the most recent actions carried out by guerrillas and their results:

“Within the scope of the Martyr Pîroz and Marty Agirî Revolutionary Campaign, on July 25, at 21.30, our guerrilla forces carried out an action targeting a military convoy of the invading Turkish army heading from Hakkari province to the Çelê (Çukurca) district near Çemê Bêdelê village.

The enemy convoy was put under intense fire from two sides. In the action, 2 Kirpi-type and 1 Ejder-type military vehicles were totally destroyed and 33 enemy soldiers were killed. Following the action, the occupying Turkish army carried away wreckages of vehicles and dead and wounded soldiers from the area with the support of the Atak-type helicopters.

Within the scope of the Revolutionary Campaign, on July 25, t 15:00, our forces carried out an action against the enemy soldiers positioned on Koordine hill in Hakkari's Çelê (Çukurca) district. The number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined in the action where positions on the hill were struck effectively.

Within the scope of the Martyr Delal Amed and Besta Martyrs Revolutionary Campaign, our guerrilla forces carried out an action targeting a disguised unit of the occupying Turkish army, which was trying to deploy on the area of Geliyoka in Basa (Güçlükonak) district of Şırnak on the evening of July 24th. Three soldiers were killed and five soldiers were wounded in the action. The occupying Turkish army has launched an operation in the area following the action.

Within the scope of the campaign, on July 25, at 17.30, our forces carried out an action against the soldiers on the guardhouse of Fındıkê outpost in of Şırnak province. One soldier was killed in the action. Following the action, the occupying army bombed the area with howitzers and mortars.”
