HPG: 23 Turkish soldiers killed in Şemdinli and Çukurca

HPG Press Office announced the outcome of the action carried out against the Turkish army forces on June 12 in Hakkari’s Şemdinli district.

The HPG statement said “at least 20 soldiers died in the action carried out as part of the Martyr Bedran Gundikremi and Martyr Nalın Muş revolutionary maneuver”. The statement also reported that 3 soldiers were killed in the action YJA-Star guerillas carried out in Çukurca.

ŞEMDİNLİ ACTION

“As part of the Martyr Bedran Gundikremi and Martyr Nalın Muş revolutionary maneuver, our forces carried out an extensive action from 3 branches on Şkêrê Spî hill, the security hill of the Garê regiment of Hakkari’s Şemzinan district on June 12 at 23:30. Our forces effectively hit the positions on the hill, destroying several positions, while a large number of soldiers abandoned their positions and fled. 20 soldiers were determined to have been killed in the action. Our forces achieved full control of the hill and confiscated 1 BKC weapon and its chain, 1 Kanas and its binoculars, 1 HK-33 (hybrid) weapon, 1 60mm mortar weapon and 1 thermal and night vision binoculars. Our forces also destroyed several weapons and ammunition that belonged to the invading Turkish army on the hill.

Our forces simultaneously hit the Konserve (Tatasêlê) hill with heavy weapons. After the actions, the invading Turkish army bombed the area with jet fighters, Howitzers and mortars. The invading Turkish army launched an operation on the area on June 13 and removed their dead and wounded soldiers.

YJA-STAR ACTION IN ÇUKURCA

As part of the Martyr Bedran Gundikremi and Martyr Nalın Muş revolutionary maneuver, our YJA forces carried out an action on the invading Turkish army’s coordination hill in Hakkari’s Çelê (Çukurca) district on June 12 at 16:30. Three soldiers were determined to have been killed in the action. After the action, the Turkish army randomly bombed the surrounding areas with Howitzers and mortars.”
