HPG/YJA Star guerrillas continue giving an effective response to the ongoing attacks of the Turkish state forces in Northern Kurdistan. People’s Defense Forces (HPG) Press Office reported in a written statement that 12 soldiers and 1 special operation unit police were killed in the recent guerrilla actions while 3 helicopters were damaged.

HPG Press Office reported about the clashes in Geliyê Doskî (Dağlıca) area of Hakkari's Yüksekova (Gever) district, saying that the area still remains under the control of guerrilla forces. HPG said a group of local people retrieved the bodies of soldiers killed here the day before after the regional command gave approval for the removal of the soldiers' corpses that till remained in the area of the clashes yesterday.

HPG reported that Turkish jets accompanied by drones shelled Gelîyê Doskî and Binbir areas, which involved the village of Gizê, at between 06:30-17:00 on September 7, adding that inhabitants left the village after the bombardments.

SIKORSKY TYPE HELICOPTER DAMAGED

Guerrilla forces hit and damaged a Sikorsky type helicopter flying from Hakkari to Çukurca at 14:30 on September 6, forcing it to leave the area soon later.

Turkish jets shelled Hill Koloska in the Sümbül area of Yüksekova (Gever) at between 10:30-11:30 on September 7.

Guerrillas carried out an assassination attack on Radyolog military post at the border to Xakurkê area of Medya Defense Zones at 08:30 on September 8, leaving one soldier dead.

9 SOLDIERS KILLED IN ŞEMZİNAN

HPG went on reporting that the Turkish army launched an operation with a troop of 150 soldiers in the areas of Betkarê and Seraro villages of Hakkari's Şemzinan district on September 7. While guerrillas laid ambushes after noticing the positioning of soldiers on a hill located between two villages at 05:00, 9 soldiers were killed at around 11:30 after being trapped in the ambush here. Turkish troops retreated from the area and 3 armoured vehicles arriving at the scene at 12:30 to remove the casualties opened random fire on the houses in Seraro village before retrieving the bodies of soldiers. The Turkish troop then withdrew towards Şemzinan town centre at 17:30, while the army bombarded the villages of Dola Şoreşger and Mela with mortars during the withdrawal.

In a sabotage action, guerrillas destroyed a base station of a GSM operator in Geman village located between Rındıkê and Çukurca district of Hakkari at between 21.00 - 22.00 on September 6.

YJA Star guerrillas carried out an assassination action on Xoşat military post in Van's Payizava (Gürpınar) district at 05:40 on September 8, leaving 2 soldiers dead.

Two base stations of two GSM operators located between Katrak and Poşuya villages of Şemrex (Mazıdağı) were destroyed in a sabotage action by guerrillas at 23:20 on September 7.

Kobra type helicopters of the Turkish army shelled Kato Hesen area of Berwari (Pervari) district of Sêrt (Siirt) at between 06:30-07:00 on September 8. A wildfire that erupted in the area as a result of the bombardment still continues.

2 COBRA TYPE HELICOPTERS DAMAGED IN SİLVAN

Guerrillas carried out ID check and informed people about the process on the road between Batman and Farqin (Silvan) district of Amed at 20:30 on September 7. Guerrillas hit two Cobra type helicopters which were dispatched to the scene for intervention at 21:30. The helicopters left the scene immediately after getting damaged.

Guerrillas carried out an action against the entrance gate of a regiment in Amed city centre at 21:30 on September 6. While the number of the casualties could not be verified, the Turkish army removed the casualties with 2 ambulances.

In another action, guerrillas targeted the Police Headquarters in Hani district of Amed at 15:30 on September 7. An emplacement where special operation units were positioned was hit by rockets and destroyed completely, which left 1 special operation police dead and 2 others wounded.

The Turkish army removed the casualties with ambulances and helicopters 15 minutes after the action, soldiers opened random fire around the district, which started a fire in the area.

HPG further reported that the roads between Dersim-Erzincan and Dersim-Ovacık remain under the control of guerrillas since August 17.

COUNTER ACTIVITIES IN AMED

HPG lastly reported in its statement that a group of 6 persons, including 2 women, are engaged in counter activities in Hindin village of Eğil district of Amed, Şılbeytan village of Piran (Dicle) district, Kinir Şomaşi and Kopekan villages of Erxeni (Ergani) district and Çetinkaya and Yeniköy villages of Çermûg (Çermik) for the last one week.
