HPG: 11 soldiers were killed in YJA-Star action on March 10

HPG reported that 11 soldiers of the Turkish army were killed as a result of an action carried out by Kurdish female guerrillas YJA-STAR in Sirnak countryside on March 10.

People’s Defense Forces Press and Communications Center (HPG-BIM) released a statement about an action carried out by YJA-Star guerrillas on March 10, the results of which have could just be determined.

According to the statement, guerrillas of YJA-Star (Free Women’s Troops) carried out an action targeting a convoy of the Turkish army that was conducting control on Sirnak-İkizce road at 07:30 on March 10.

HPG said all the four vehicles in the convoy were hit effectively and destroyed after coming under intense fire. 11 Turkish soldiers were verified killed and two others wounded as a result of the action, after which Turkish forces retrieved the casualties from the area with armored vehicles and carried out random bombardment on the scene.

In the evening hours, Turkish troops based in outposts in the region shelled Cudi region with tank, howitzer and mortar fire.
