HDP MPs launch “Resistance Vigil” in Amed

HDP MPs held their group meeting and launched a “Resistance Vigil” in Amed.

Peoples’ Democratic Party (Halkların Demokratik Partisi - HDP) held the party’s Parliamentary group meeting in Amed this week with the slogan, “Don’t Stop, Say Stop, Stop Fascism”. The people who wanted to watch the meeting held in Ekin Ceren Park were prevented by the police. The MPs held the meeting inside the park, surrounded by police barricades to prevent the public’s access.

“Turkey has turned into an open prison,” said the HDP MPs and marched in protest after the group meeting.

After the protest, a “Resistance Vigil” was launched. The HDP MPs sat by the police barricades surrounding the park and talked about current developments.

Party administrators showed support by participating in the Resistance Vigil. During the resistance, the HDP MPs will make statements every hour on current developments, and there will be a press statement in the park tomorrow at 11.00.

PARTICIPANTS OF THE VIGIL

The HDP MPs to hold a Resistance Vigil in Amed until July 31 are: HDP Spokesperson Osman Baydemir, HDP Group Deputy Chairperson Ahmet Yıldırım, İstanbul MPs Hüda Kaya and Garo Paylan, Adıyaman MP Behçet Yıldırım, Amed MPs Feleknas Uca, Nimettullah Erdoğmuş and Ziya Pir, İzmir MP Müslüm Doğan, Ağrı MP Dilan Dirayet Taşdemir.
