HDP delegation in Sulaymaniyah calls for national unity

"The most important thing for Kurdish people in these difficult times is unity and agreement. We have a strong neck that won’t be bent. Our heart beats the same whether in Kirkuk or Afrin”.

According to a report by RojNews, HDP Urfa deputy Osman Baydemir, speaking at a press conference during their visit to Sulaymaniyah, said that “There is no difference among the Kurdish people in Kirkuk, Amed, Afrin, Mahabad and what they have lived”.

Berhame Saleh, President of the Coalition for Democracy and Justice, said that the national congress should be convened as soon as possible.

After the meeting both sides insisted on the need for national unity. Osman Baydemir said: "The most important thing for Kurdish people in these difficult times is unity and agreement. We have a strong neck that won’t be bent. Our heart beats the same whether in Kirkuk or Afrin”.

Baydemir added: “We talked about how important the unity of the Kurdish people is in all the interviews we made, and everyone agrees on this. The Kurdish people needs to step up its struggle for peace and freedom. The solution to the Kurdish problem lies in a peace settlement”.

The HDP delegation will meet with the New Generation Party and the Socialist Party after a visit to the Coalition for Democracy and Justice.
