HPG and YJA-Star guerrillas in Kirkuk celebrated the August 15 Initiative and pledged to build free Kurdistan.
The 32nd anniversary of August 15, the first PKK actions in Siirt's Eruh district and Hakkari's Şemdinli district, was celebrated by guerrillas with a military ceremony in Kirkuk. The ceremony was attended by HPG Makhmur-Kirkuk State Commanders Bawer Serhat and Selim Zilan, YJA-Star Makhmur-Kirkuk State Commander Çiğdem Doğu, Kirkuk Front Commanders Serdar Garzan and Berfin Deniz.
Speaking here, HPG Makhmur-Kirkuk State Commander Bawer Serhat saluted Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan for his effort, labor, devotion and ideology that created this day for the Kurds. Serhat also commemorated all the martyrs in the person of Commander Egit, stressing that August 15 is the Day of Birth to them, and means commitment, courage, self-sacrifice and free will.
HPG Commander pointed out that August 15 is the name of the first bullet fired for resistance against the dirty war, policies of terror, denial and annihilation pursued against the Kurdish people.
Serhat noted that the first bullet fired on August 15 was against not only the Turkish state but also all the dictators in the Middle East, Kurdish betrayers and collaborators.
"This resistance and spirit revealed on August 15 continues to rise in all parts of Kurdistan with victories today. The unbending resistance of guerrillas continues in Kurdistan mountains, plains and cities, following in the footsteps of our great commander Egit. Our guerrilla forces are leading great resistance against all dictator regimes in the Middle East."
HPG Commander continued, saluting the Rojava Revolution and Manbij victory, stressing that the architect of this victory is the spirit of August 15 Initiative.
Serhat pointed out that Kurdish Freedom Movement is on the eve of status for Kurdistan and freedom for Leader Apo (Öcalan) at the moment, and reiterated their promise to ensure the liberation of Öcalan and building of free Kurdistan on the 33rd anniversary of the August 15 Initiative.
