Guerrillas hit Turkish troops in Metina

The invading Turkish army continues its attacks on the guerrilla-controlled Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

The Press Office of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement providing information on the latest actions by guerrillas and occupation attacks by the Turkish army.

According to the HPG statement, guerrillas struck the Turkish occupation troops that attempted to enter the war positions of the guerrillas in the area of Zendura in Metina region at 10:30 on June 5. The Turkish soldiers that attempted to enter the war positions under the lead of a dog equipped with a camera were forced to retreat in the wake of effective strikes.

On the other hand, attack helicopters bombed Avashin and Zap regions, while the troops in the Mamreşo and Mervanos areas in Avashin region were replaced with new groups on June 4.

HPG stated that Turkish attack helicopters bombed the Type T area in Zap region last night.

The statement added that guerrillas suffered no casualties as a result of the bombardments.
