Guerrillas carry out actions in memory of martyrs to mark the ‘Week of Heroism’

Guerrillas carried out a series of military actions in memory of martyrs to mark the Week of Heroism. One Turkish military position was destroyed, and one soldier was killed in Zap.

The Press Centre of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement providing information on the latest guerrilla actions and Turkish attacks in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

The statement released on Monday includes the following:

“As part of the Bazên Zagrosê Revolutionary Campaign in the Zap region,

On March 26, the Turkish troops in Kela Bedewê were struck by our forces with heavy weapons. The determined targets were hit accurately.

On March 27, a Turkish military position in Kela Bêdewê was targeted by our forces. One military position was destroyed, and one soldier was killed during the action.

These actions were carried out in memory of all the immortal heroes of Kurdistan in the persons of our comrades Agît (Mahsum Korkmaz) and Mazlum Doğan, who are the immortal martyrs of the March 21-28 Week of Heroism.

On March 26, between 07:45 and 10:10, the Girê Hakkari area of ​​the Metîna region was bombed twice by Turkish fighter jets.

On March 26, at 10:00, the Şkefta Birîndara area in the Zap region was bombed by Turkish fighter jets.

On March 26, at 10:20, the vicinity of the Lolan River in the Xakurke region was bombed twice by Turkish fighter jets.

On March 27, at 19:40, the Kûnîşka area in ​​the Zap region and at 21:05 the Girê Ortê area in ​​the Metina region were bombed by Turkish fighter jets.
