Family of Yıldız killed by soldiers gives blood sample for DNA test

Family of Murat Yıldız slaughtered by Turkish soldiers in Dersim, gave blood sample for DNA test. Father Mazlum Yıldız was shown four corpses to identify his son. The bodies, one of which belonged to a woman, were unrecognizable, he said.

Murat Yıldız (28) who lived in Aşağıtorunoba village in Ovacık district of Dersim is reported to have died in an air attack by the Turkish army in Ağaçpınar village, where he had gone to build a shelter for his animals.

Asked to give blood sample by the requisition of Ovacık Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office subsequent to the death news, Yıldız family went to Malatya Forensic Medicine Institute where the mother gave blood sample.

While the family returned to Dersim after the procedures, father Mazlum Yıldız spoke about the process and stated the DNA sample was sent to Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute.

Father Yıldız told that they were shown four corpses to identify their slain son. One of these belonged to a woman. “The corpses were unrecognizable. We try to remain standing after all that we have been through,” the father added.
