As the cost of living and gasoline prices are soaring continuously in the Kurdistan Region, drivers took to the streets on Wednesday in protest at the skyrocketing prices in Hewler, RojNews reported.

Drivers involved in the protest stated that although they had waited in a long queue to tank up since late at night, sales started only at 09:00 in the morning and the filling station was closed at 12:00.

Protesting against the latest developments, drivers closed the Hewlêr-Koye main road to traffic for a while.
