International Delegation of Lawyers Against Isolation visits Amed

Members of the International Delegation of Lawyers Against Isolation visited ÖHD and Rosa Women's Association in Amed.

Members of the International Delegation of Lawyers Against Isolation arrived in Amed (Diyarbakır) for talks on the absolute isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is held in İmralı F Type High Security Closed Prison and has not been heard from for 35 months

The delegation, consisting of lawyers from Spain, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Norway and South Africa, made its first visit to the Association of Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD). ÖHD Co-Chair Ekin Yeter and association executives and Abdullah Öcalan's guardian Mazlum Dinç welcomed the delegation members.

Speaking during the visit, ÖHD Co-Chair Ekin Yeter informed the delegation about the activities of their association. Yeter and ÖHD executives also shared information on the rights violations in Turkey, İmralı isolation and the situation in Turkish prisons.

The lawyers in the delegation highlighted the importance of professional solidarity. They emphasized that they are closely following the isolation and unlawfulness that Abdullah Öcalan is subjected to, and that they will raise the isolation on international platforms.

The delegation then visited the Rosa Women's Association, the president of which, Suzan İşbilen, informed the delegation about the work of the association and said that their workload increased after women's institutions were usurped by trustees. The delegation vowed solidarity with the association.

Delegation members will continue their visits in the city.
