After ISIS gangs’ infiltration into Kobanê this morning, DBP and KJA called on civilians to come to the border between Kobanê and Turkey in order to support the resistance and shield it against the gangs. DBP and KJA also condemned Turkey’s support to ISIS in the attacks.
DBP: OUR PEOPLE MUST COME TO THE BORDER
Democratic Regions Party (DBP) called on civilians to be human shields against the attack of ISIS gangs on Kobanê. DBP Amed Provincial Co-President Ali Şimşek called on people to go to the Kobanê-Suruç border and take advantage of the vehicles that depart from DBP provincial and district centers for transportation to the border.
Şimşek described the attacks as a reflection of ISIS’ objection to the liberation of Grê Spî, and said that Kobanê is Kurdish people’s “red line.” Şimşek invited the people of Amed, who had never left the people of Kobanê without support, to the border. Şimşek emphasized that it is not enough to condemn these attacks and people should do their best to prevent them.
KJA: WE MUST PREVENT THE MASSACRE
Free Women’s Congress (KJA) member Sultan Şaman objected to ISIS attacks and pointed out that Turkey has been supporting ISIS for a year and a half. Şaman described the attacks as the Turkish government’s revenge plan after its defeat in Girê Sipi and North Kurdistan elections. Şaman warned that many more civilians could die if the attacks are not repelled, and called on civilians to come to the border in order to prevent future attacks from Turkey into Kobanê.
Şaman called on civilians to go to the border and close all paths and roads into Kobanê. Şaman emphasized that one of the ways in which Turkey helps ISIS is clearing roads for their passage, and KJA would finalize its planning and go to the border today in order to prevent such road clearance attempts.
