Co-mayor of Amed's Kocaköy district, Affüllah Kar has been taken into custody as result of a police operation in which three other people were detained for alleged “membership to a terrorist organisation”. It was not immediately clear who the other detainees are.

Kar had previously been stripped of his authorities as district co-mayor in the scope of an investigation run by Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor's Office.

The four detainees have been taken to district police headquarters.
