Thousands of civilians who have flocked to the Turkish border after fleeing the ISIS-occupied city of Girê Spî, which has been surrounded by YPG/YPJ now, are simply being left to death at Turkish border where Turkish soldiers aren't allowing them to cross the border.
In the meantime, YPG/YPJ and Burkan Al Fırat forces that have reached the outskirts of Girê Spî will launch an operation at city center.
YPG/YPJ forces that have cut off the road between Girê Spî and Raqqa, which was of major importance for the ISIS gangs, surrounded the city with the support of Burkan Al Fırat forces.
While YPG/YPJ forces are heading towards Girê Spî from the Serêkaniyê side, Burkan Al Fırat forces are advancing from the Kobanê side.
At the Turkish border, which is the only side remaining open in the city which has been surrounded from the sides, Turkish soldiers are hindering the crossing of Rojava civilians with armored vehicles and water cannons.
After the soldiers didn't allow the civilians to cross into the Turkish side, ISIS gangs also appeared near them at the border and forced them to turn back to the city by force of arms.
Refusing to be used by ISIS as human shields, the people flocked a while after back to the border where they continue waiting without food and water, subjected to quite hot weather of 35 degrees. Thousands of civilians are asking to be provided with water, showing the empty water bottles in their hands, and to cross into the Turkish side where their relatives also continue waiting for them to be allowed inside.
Yesterday, YPG General Command called on the inhabitants in the area of the ongoing Operation Commander Rubar Qamishlo to leave the region and go to the Cizîrê Canton to avoid being harmed and used by ISIS gangs as human shields.
Vowing to provide all kinds of humanitarian aid to the people displaced due to ongoing battle, YPG General Command said; "We are ready to offer any kind of help to ensure that the people can turn back home once the operation has been finalized and the region is cleansed of gang groups."
The denial of permission for the refugees is said to be a decision of the Turkish government as Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş stated last Wednesday that Turkey wouldn't allow in refugees from then on.
On the other hand, it is reported to be a matter of time before YPG converge with Burkan Al Fırat forces on the southern front. Both groups of forces will reportedly start an operation soon to liberate the Girê Spî city. According to information gathered from local sources, gun fires are reported from the center of the city, where also smokes are rising, as YPG/YPJ and Burkan Al Fırat are getting more and more closer to the city.
