The Operation Centre of Burkan Al-Fırat forces has issued a statement regarding the ongoing joint operation to liberate Girê Spî, saying that the operation successfully continues and the victory is near, adding that no allegations would break their determination to continue to defend the people.
Burkan Al-Fırat said their forces have launched a series of operations and actions against the ISIS gangs within the scope of the operation to liberate Girê Spî (Tel Abyad) and cleansed many strategically important places between Ayn Îsa and Girê Spî, inflicting heavy blows on the gangs.
The statement said Burkan Al-Fırat forces have liberated so far over 20 villages within the scope of the operation they started on 29 May 2015, adding that the Burkan Al-Fırat fighters have advanced 10 km towards Girê Spî. The statement stressed that all the military gains have been obtained by the contribution of the local people in the area.
Burkan Al-Fırat Operation Centre went on saying that historic gains have been achieved in many aspects within the scope of the operation, and that the main connections between Ayn Îsa and Girê Spî have been cut, leading to a moral breakdown among the gang groups.
The statement said through the struggle enhanced by the solidarity established between the fighters and the local people as well as the support provided by the airstrikes of the coalition forces, the liberation of Girê Spî is near.
Burkan Al-Fırat stressed that the statements aiming at defamation of the successes gained by the Burkan Al-Fırat Operation Centre at the western parts of Girê Spî are far away from the realities. The statement said the people who have been taken hostage in the ISIS occupied settlements have long been asking help from the Burkan Al-Fırat forces and that they have provided major support in order for the liberation of the people in the area. The statement noted that the ISIS gangs are, on the other hand, using the local people as human shields in clashes.
Burkan Al-Fırat drew attention to the fact that thousands of people are prevented by the ISIS gangs to cross the border and are being threatened to not to do so.
Burkan AL-Fırat said the defamation campaign and attacks launched following the recent developments in the area against their forces are part of a deliberate plan to cover up the savage attacks of the ISIS gangs on people, stressing that the allegations aim to degrade the success of the Burkan Al-Fırat forces.
“We announce hereby once again that Burkan Al-Fırat Operation Centre considers the defence of the civilians and ensuring their safety as a basic duty and responsibility. The defamation campaigns launched by some press organs will never break our determination to defend the civilians” said the statement, adding that Burkan Al-Fırat remains loyal to principles and morals of basic human rights.
“We announce hereby on this basis that we remain determined to cleanse each part of Syria of the ISIS gangs and herald to our people living in Girê Spî, Siluk and the villages to the north of Raqqa that the victory is near”, ended the statement of the Burkan Al-Fırat Operation Centre.
