Body of HPG guerrilla handed over to his family after 3 years

The body of guerrilla Adem Göz, who was buried in the cemetery of the nameless by Turkish forces after his death in a clash in Dersim in 2021, was delivered to his family after 3 years. His body was laid to rest yesterday evening.

The body of Adem Göz (Çiyager), an HPG (People’s Defense Forces) guerrilla who died in a clash during an operation in Dersim in 2021, was retrieved by the soldiers and buried in the cemetery of the nameless in Malatya and his family has not been provided information during the mentioned period of time.

5 days ago, the soldiers called the family and told them that their son had died. The family travelled to Malatya and identified the body of Adem Göz from a photograph. His body was delivered yesterday, and buried in the Karşıyaka neighbourhood in the İpekyolu district of Van.

Representatives of many civil society organisations and political parties paid condolence visits to the family, including MEBYA- DER (Association for Assistance, Solidarity and Culture with the Families of the Disappeared in the Cradle of Civilisations), Van Association for Assistance and Solidarity with the Families of Detained and Convicted (TUAY-DER), Democratic Regions Party (DBP), People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Van provincial and district organisations, Peace Mothers, Free Women’s Movement (Tevgera Jinen Azad, TJA).
