While the attacks of Turkish security forces have left a heavy toll in the neighborhoods where they staged a crackdown, a delegation of DBP and HDP officials has started an examination in the district.
Silence dominates the district now after the withdrawal of police and military forces that terrorized the people and their living areas all day long.
A number of houses in Tekel and Mescit neighborhoods, both of which witnessed heavy clashes yesterday, became unusable, and marks of rockets and bullets are visible on the walls of countless houses and workplaces.
A workplace in Mescit neighborhood, 6 vehicles in Tekel neighborhood and a digger belonging to Silvan Municipality were all burnt down and left out of use during yesterday's conflict in the district.
Special operations police teams fired a hand grenade into the house of locals Fatma-Ramazan Can in Tekel neighborhood before raiding the house, but to find it empty as the household had left their home one day ago. Fatma Can, mother of three, said; "If we had been home, we all would have been murdered, including my baby who would have been killed in his cradle."
80-YEAR-OLD WOMAN SUFFERED HEART ATTACK DUE TO HAND GRENADE
It is reported that 80-year-old resident Hanife Durak, a neighbor of the Can family living near their house, lost her life after suffering a heart attack due to the sound of the hand grenade fired in the house next to hers. Reports say four people lost their lives and many others were wounded in the attack by military and police forces.
76-year-old resident Remziye Sarılı, who lives in Tekel neighborhood, told that special operations police made announcements from armored vehicles, swore at the people saying allahuekber.
Sarılı said police continued making announcements after the cease of clashes, this time telling people to "Go out" despite the ongoing curfew in the district. She added that they would have been murdered if they had done so.
After the cease of clashes, soldiers deployed on Hill Gaza shelled the Aşe Nebu woods randomly with tanks.
Handan Altunterun (20) living in Mescit neighborhood was targeted by snipers and injured on the neck, and another woman by the name of Ayşe Topdemir suffered an injury on the ankle. Both were treated home as nobody was allowed into or out of the district yesterday.
DBP/HDP DELEGATION MAKING AN EXAMINATION
An activity of cobra type helicopters and armored vehicle continues in the district which is dominated by silence now.
