Another DBP-held municipality usurped by the government

The Erdoğan-led AKP regime has usurped yet another municipality held by the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) in North Kurdistan as part of its all-out attacks against the Kurds and their elected representatives.

The municipality of Rüstemgedik town in Bulanık district of Muş has been usurped by the government. Bulanık district governor Hacı Arslan Uzan has been assigned as trustee to the municipality.

The co-mayor of the town, Abdullah Aydın, who stands trial for allegedly “spreading propaganda for the terrorist organization (PKK)”, was recently suspended by the Interior Ministry.

After his appointment as a trustee, Bulanık district governor Hacı Arslan Uzan's first action has been to come to the municipality to the accompaniment of dozens of armed policemen, and hold a meeting with the employees while the municipal building was covered with Turkish flags.
